Split to column not working in Direct Query mode

Hi All,

Does power BI not allow to make transformations "Split to Column" using Delimiter when in the direct query mode?

As I'm unable to do the same.

Regards,

Titiksha

Hi @TitikshaGanjoo,

You should get the messarge when you try to Split to column. As Directl Query, Power BI desktop is just a model layer that there are some limitations of that. For more details, please check the online document. So as the suggestion of @Greg_Deckler, you can switch to Import mode.

Correct, you should get a warning that "This step results in a query that is not supported in DirectQuery mode." And have a button for the option to switch to Import mode.
