Shared Report not accessible to external users

Untitled picture (3).pngUntitled picture 2.png

Hi all,

Recently I have tried to share a report to a client of mine. The client clicked the report and they tried to login and received message " We can;t get you there from here".

Also, asked the client to login into www.powerbi.com site and found another error as per the screenshot.

I have not faced this issue before with my other client. So, I not sure what is the issue and what steps taken to resolve it. If can;t what is the right explanation to be given for this issue to the client.

Please help if you may.

as it says in the message - the client needs to clarify with their IT department if they can be allowed to login to powerbi.com (and be allocated a Power BI Pro license) or not.

Thank you Ben. Additional Questions...

Do they need pro-license? Can a free license suffice?

My understanding is that external users need a Pro license to access your data.

Incorrect, if you have a Permium capacity workspace then an external user can access your content using a free account.
