Share a report with an open link without the possibility to edit

Hi there,

Is it possible to share a report via open link (without the tenant, visible to all to be clear),

With fixed filters and without the possibility to edit filters?

There are about 10 clients on my report,

I just want to share their own report fixing client filter

Thank you in advance for the response,

Diego

@dgianni,

For your use case, Row-Level Security (RLS) seems to be the solution. It is used to make only the data available to user as veiwable to them.

Hi @dgianni ,

You can clear "persistent filtering" and "hide filter panel" before publishing and sharing to user.

Clearing persistent filters will allow user to change filters but will not the changes will not be saved in services.

Hiding filter panel will not give user the ability to change visual/page filters.

If you are taking about in-canvas slicer filtering, i don't think you can have something to not allow user to change it unless you give only your selected element as option.

Can you please show me how to do it?

Thank you 🙂

@dgianni,

For persistent filter:

File -> Options and Settings -> Options ->Current File: Report Settings (Last option in left pane) -> Tick the first checkbox

For hiding Filter Pane:

Click on View -> Click on Filter in "Show Panes" section (It should not have grey background)

Thank you for the response,

As "Filter" i was mistakenly talking about the graphic object that i use as filter,

In background i have many more filters not editable by the user.

As i want to send the report to any of my clients (each green line is a client), but at the same time i don't want that a client see the stats of another one,

How can i fix the "Tipo | Linea Corriere"?

Is there a way to make it not editable by the user in a free link report (not on tenant)?

Thank you 🙂

Hello @dgianni

We can implement RLS on the report which will help you to achieve your desired goal !!!

What is RLS?

RLS can be confusing in terms of Dynamic and Static!

Dynamic - you can implement it when you have a column with email id associated with the customers.
