Setting up a test environment

We are using powerbi since 2 years as a customer and we would like to have a test domain, so a separate account and environment for test purposes.

Since we have 2 company logins, one for production, and one for test purposes with another domain name I would think it should be possible to register the test domain. We already bought Azure services for our test domain,

I have 2 questions:

- is it another user license for test purposes? (concerning prices)

- how should we register the second domain for powerbi?

Re: Setting up a test environment

Hi @giovi2008,

>> is it another user license for test purposes? (concerning prices)

If you also need to test share dashboards or other pro features, you need to bought pro license for these testing users.

>> how should we register the second domain for powerbi?

Please refer to below video to know how to create a free trial tenant as the test domain.

How to create a Trial Tenant in Office 365

In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you to create a group, you can publish report to this group for testing.(contains test guys)
After finish testing, you can publish report the actually workspace. For this situation, you not need to care about cross domain gateway or other similar complex issues.
