Scheduled daily refresh shows partial records (new records added, but not all record details)

Hi everyone,

First, I have to say thanks to everyone who've posted questions / answers on here.  It's helped wonders!

I have a Power BI report that I created in Desktop that pulls the source information from a SharePoint List.  I'm able to build the report and refresh the data manually (i.e. clicking refresh) and see everything - and it also reflects in my Visuals on Power BI Client.

I was able to publish it through the service (hope it's the right term) and scheduled daily refreshes as well.  However, when I look at the data after every refresh, I see new records being added to a Table visual (but not all the information, i.e. I'll see the new date in my Visual table and the counts that I'm expecting).  However, not all the data is showing, i.e. in the table visual I see the new date with the number of records, but its associated attributes are shown as blank, i.e. which tells me something refreshed but just not everything.  I know the query works because prior to the publishing / scheduling, the counts show up properly as not blanks but in it's categories.

Furthermore, when I open the PBIX in Power BI Desktop, I see the data when I click refresh.  If I open the query editor and click 'refresh' again, the data will show up.  If I publish the PBIX after I've done these two steps, all the data shows up as I expect it in the Service / online.

I have a feeling I'm missing a step somewhere in the scheduling over the refresh.  It's set up in the service in my workspace as refresh daily and I see the history showing a daily refresh.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks so much!

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems that you could refresh successfully in Power BI Desktop, but it has problems when scheduled  refresh in Power BI Service.

I still have a little confused about your scenario.

However, not all the data is showing, i.e. in the table visual I see the new date with the number of records, but its associated attributes are shown as blank, i.e. which tells me something refreshed but just not everything.

What is the associated attributes?

And do you have any refresh errors?

In addition, if you manually refresh in Power BI Service, will it have this same issue?

Best  Regards,

Cherry
