Schedule Refresh is not working in salesforce connector

Hello,

I have prepared one Power BI Report using salesforce connector (salesforce objects).

When I publish this report in Power BI Online, and try to set schedule refresh;

under Data Source credentials, it gives an error: "Failed to update Data Source credentials"

SST.PNG

Earlier I have tried with enabled MFA (Multi Factor Authentication), but it doesn't work.

In above screenshot, i have tried with disabled the MFA (Multi Factor Authentication), but it doesn't work.

I have also checked if is there any other authentication method available or not, but only "OAuth2" method is available.

Please note that, in Power BI Desktop i am able to refresh the data successfully without any error, but in PBI Online, it is not working.

Can anyone please help here ?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @hemal_kanjia I know this reply is very late, but were you able to find a solution? I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues refreshing my data too. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

SALESFORCE-2.png

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

hi @hemal_kanjia

I'd like  to suggest you refer the following requirements and considerarions about Salesforce connector.

  • Connected with a production Salesforce account that has API access enabled

  • Permission granted to the Power BI app during sign in

  • The account has sufficient API calls available to pull and refresh the data

  • A valid authentication token is required for refresh. Salesforce has a limit of five authentication tokens per application so make sure you've five or less Salesforce data sets imported.

For further information, please refer the document .

Best Regards,

Lin

@v-lili6-msft

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have gone through the requirements and considerarions which you have mentioned and I have also given the requirement permission to the account by which I am putting schedule refresh, however getting the same error.

Please note that, I am using the trial version of salesforce account.

Is it so because i am using trial version of salesforce account ? or any other issue ?

Thank you in advance.
