Hi,
I am trying to connect my Salesforce Lightening through the Salesforce Power BI app but it keep getting the below error even through I 100% know the credentials are correct. Any help Salesforce Connection - Browser error
Hi @henrygdoyle I know this reply is very late, but were you able to find a solution? I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues updating my data too. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi @henrygdoyle ,
Does that make sense? If so, kindly mark the proper reply as a solution to help others having the similar issue and close the case. If not, let me know and I'll try to help you further.
Best regards
Amy
Hi @henrygdoyle ,
You may use another browser like Edge (instead of Chrome or Mozilla), and then go to Settings ->Datasets, choose your dataset, go to "Data source credentials", click "Edit credentials". See the similar case : Data Source Credentials Not Updating.
If you still have this issue for Power BI, you'd better create a support ticket in Power BI Support , Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET", or go to Issue forum to get further help.
Best Regards,
Amy
