SAP HANA data source - User impersonation in IMPORT mode

Hi All,

We need help on defining user based conenctions to SAP HANA data sources through Gateway using IMPORT mode.

setup details - 

1. We have setup "Only 1" data source connection for given HANA Data source  in gateway with fixed credentials( all data access).
2. We need to share this connections with multiple users (having their own id / user based data security in hana) who will use HANA Data source in IMPORT mode to create their reports.

Problem - 

1. Is it possible to setup gateway to impersonate users in IMPORT conenction mode or only restricted to DirectQuery mode ?
2. if possible , How can we make gateway use individual user credentials for HANA connection (impersonation) rather than stored credentials in gateway ?

Hi @Anonymous ,

1. I am afraid that Power BI doesn't support it currently.

2. Credential won't be changed automatically, you need to configure the credential and gateway manually. You could share your gateway with other users. If you want to use RLS, you could set RLS in the Power BI.
