Run GATEWAY on server

This is my current setup.
I connect to a remote SQL server, through a VPN. On my PC, I am also running the Gateway. 
I successfully established the connection on app.powerbi.com and I can extract data. That is all good, so far.

However, I have come across these 2 situations:

•  I can't have my PC on at all times
•  I run different VPN's for different SQL server. Therefore, if 1 VPN is off, Power BI online will not connect, need it be, for a scheduled refresh

Is it possible to have the Gatewat run on a server?

Hey,

I highly recommend to install the on-premises data gateway on a dedicated machine, that is close (from a network perspective) to the SQL Server.

From a network perspective, the server I have in mind is on the same network as the SQL server. It is an AWS server. Whereas my local PC is not at on the same network and requires a VPN indeed. Thank you for the links too, will go through
