Restricting users not to remove fields from the filters in Report View

Hi,

We created a report using Power BI desktop and added some fields at the page level filters. We published the report to our company strategy group Workspace. All the members in that workspace are members with view permissions. Only me and another developer have admin permissions on the workspace.

We created a dashboard and users can go to the report using dashboard or from report section. When they go to report view they will not have edit report option. So they can only view the data and change the filters.

One user expanded the filter section and he clicked on "X" against a field and that field got removed from the filters section.

What we want is, any user who have view permissions should be able to only view the data and change the filter values, but they should not have authority to remove the page level filter fields.

Now since the fields are removed, they are not able to add back the fields, since they dont have edit report option. In this case how can they add back those field.

@RaghuCummins I agree with the functionality issue. I have made the same arguement multiple times and hope that some level of control will be given to the report author to control the end user actions.

As for the issue with the filter being removed, the end user only needs to refresh the page and the filter will be back in place because they can't take any permanent actions on the report itself so the next time they access the report the filter as it was saved by the report author will be back in place.
