Replication of a template in different workplaces

Hello everyone, I'll explain my problem and I'll hope that some of you have the answer.

First of all, my idea is create a template and upload to the service and replicate that template to some workplaces of different customers (using diferent parameters to edit a query, all the parameters are test type)

My idea was follow this tutorial: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-template-apps-create

I create a report and its designed to be my template (its not a .pbit, its a pbix). Then I followed the whole tutorial but when I try to import de app template to create another report, in the step of change parameter, it brings me an error very generic and say me: try again later.

After a research, I found that an app template dataset can't be data obtained from a gateway on premises (which is my case). So my questions are:

1 - For my purpose, exist another solution to replicate my custom template? Or the only way in template app?
2 - Anyone has idea of the error in the parameter step?

Any comment would be appreciated, Im completely lost

Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi @aoliver ,

What's your data source? If it is a static file, how about putting it on OneDrive or SharePoint Online?
