I build a PBI Model using some local files as well as data from a web source, which I connect to through an API. Everything works fine in the Destop Version including the data refresh from the web source. However, when publishing to the Service, a refresh of the web source is not possible; I get the following error message:
I used relative path and query in the query description, so that should be okay. However for some reason, PBI Service translates the Ampersand (&) into a unicode (\u0026, see marked in yellow). I assume that that causes the problem.
Can anyone help to solve this?
Thanks a lot!
Best regards, Wim
Hello Otravers and V Yangliu
I followed the hint from Otravers and have eliminated the original error, by also connecting to the web source using the gateway. Also, for all the sources I set the privacy level to Private. Howerever now I get another error. It says "A connection to the data source "undefined" could not be established." Further details only show an activity ID and a Request ID, so no Error code... Any Idea how to solve this now?
This is too vague to be able to offer much advice (not your fault, these error messages are often fairly generic).
Can you try putting your queries in a dataflow to see what happens there? Might be easier to troubleshoot out of the dataset.

You have a privacy issue when combining your queries. Read this entry:
