Refresh Using API

Hi All,

I have a report and the underlying datasets get refreshed every 5 minutes, PBI has limits on the refresh, can someone please guide me to a link or document on how to do the refresh using API's?

You can also refresh a dataset from Power Automate or even PowerShell. The Power BI connector is not a premium connector so no addtional licensing is required and is very simple to configure and maintain and much easier for someone not already familiar with ADF.  If you are in a premium capacity, there are no daily limits. I do not believe the limits are applied when refreshing from PowerShell.

Here a blog post on how to do this with Azure Data Factory

It uses Azure Data Factory's in-built managed identity to access the Power BI Service. The API call itself is the same to as if you were to use another tool like Logic Apps, Power Automate (Chris Webb has some really good stuff out there on this matter), Azure Functions or a Powershell script. There, however, you might need a service principal to do the authentication. Still, the blog post might help you either way 🙂
