RLS only for PRO Users? Can someone confirm? No mention anywhere not even in Videos.

Hello,

from this morning PBI Service is telling me my dasboards have PRO Content. When i try to select Security it says to me

it's a Pro feature.

Any news on this?

I noticed this happening to some of my dashboards that don't contain RLS and were previously not flagged as having Power BI pro content.  I haven't used them for a few months, so I suspect that the tool for identifying what constitutes "powerbi pro content" might be raising false positives.

I have t he same issue. Had it set up with the old (in service way) then last week with the new way (in Desktop),  Was all working untill this weekend

Is there any offical word on this, really dispointing if it is now for pro only.

no official news, support doesn't now anything about. Lydia the moderator was able to reproduce the issue:

@spaxia, @SteHext, got the confirmation from PG team that Row Level Security is no longer a feature available for free users. Only pro users now have access to this feature and I haven’t heard anything about a plan to bring it back to free users as of yet.

I think a better procedure for PBI team would be when there is a new functionality to immediately say if it's a Free or Pro feature. By doing this a lot of users will not waste their time trying something that they cannot afford.

Also Support and nobody knew about it and the change applied without any notice.

I can confirm that this is the case and that this was not the case on Tuesday of this week (7/5/2016). Bummer. I'll have to give the customer the bad news...

Just spoke to the support, they are unware of this switch. They said we are not convinced this switch was suppose to happen. They even believe this is some kind of error... ?????

any news on this? We need to understand if RLS for Pro users is an issue or is by design.

There are no news about it anywhere. Even support is not able to answer.

Hmm, I was just testing this earlier this week and did not encounter that. I will test again today and let you know if I see the same thing that you are seeing. I was actually somewhat pleasantly surprised that RLS worked for free account and would be disappointed if it didn't, but not surprised.
