Hi All,
I have Quickbooks Online successfully connected as a data source on my PowerBI desktop client, but this needs manual mapping of the table relationships, which isn't as obvious as I'd hoped.
So I found there is a content pack for Quickbooks Online with pre-filled relationships and reports, so I've added that in, but can only see how to do so on the PowerBI Online Workspace.
It's giving me strange figures in the report which makes me wonder if the date format is set incorrectly for my region (UK) but I can't edit it in the online workspace.
Is there a way I can import the content pack to my desktop client or could someone help me out with the manual relationship mappings if not?
thanks,
James
It is possible. Do you still need help with this?
Hi Brad
Yes I need help with this - can you please enlighten me with your solution.
cheers
After you have successfully made your connection with Quickbooks via Power BI Pro (online), then from PBI Desktop,
1. add Data Source
2. Select "Power BI" category on the left hand side
3. Select "Power BI datasets"
4. Select the Quickbooks Online dataset
Give that a shot and let me know how it work.
Thanks @bradfarley
sorry for the late response - I didn't see your reply.
Yep that works - but going through a direct link to the service does not allow me to edit the model or access query editor (free version anyway) & what's brought in is a mess.
I did find that a direct connection to QBO can now be made through:
Get Data
Online services
Quickbooks Online (beta)
now I just have to sort it into a decent model.
cheers
Hi @DWJames
It is impossible to connect to a content pack with power bi desktop.
could you show some details about how you'd like to map the relationships?
Such as how many tables there are and which are the key columns among each table, ect.
Best Regards
maggie
