Publishing from Desktop to a workspace created in the new workspace (preview)

PBI Error.jpg

Good day All,

Issue: I am getting an error stating "sorry, you don't have access to publish to this workspace. Please contact the owner for access." the workspace was created in the 'new workspace (preview)' with users added to the ADMIN and MEMBER roles.

1. I am the OWNER/ADMIN of the workspace.

2. The report is being published to the workspace even though I am getting the above error.

Any ideas? This is not noted as a known issue on Microsoft.com in the 'new workspace (preview)' details.

Thanks!

Hi @tglah,

Firstly, please check if your account log in Power BI Desktop is the same with the account you log in Power BI Service?

In addition, do you have this issue only for this specific reports or your reports created in Power BI Desktop?

If you only have the issue for this one, what data source do you connect with in this report?

Best Regards,

Cherry

Thank you Cherry @v-piga-msft,

1. Account log in is the same in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service

2. It isn't report specific. I am able to publish the same report successfully to other workspaces created before the new workspace preview

3. I get the error mentioned when trying to publish any report to any new workspace created with the new workspace preview.

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi @tglah,

I have tested again but I cannot reproduce your issue.

You could have a try if you could get data —— File—— your pbix file in the new app workspace (Preview)?

In addition, please have a try with my test pbix which attached below and publish it to your new app workspce (Preview) to check if you still have this issue.

Best Regards,

Cherry
