Hello,
Is there a way wherein we can publish .PBIT file to Power BI Service? I was going through Miscosoft's blogs and one of the blog (Please refer the link below) says Miscorosft would be working on it, just wanted to check if there are any updates?

Thanks,
Jash

Hi @Anonymous
You can't publish a .pbit file. What you have published should be .pbix file. Once you open a .pbit file and retrieve the data properly, you must save it into .pbix to publish. For your requirement, you may vote this similar idea which has been submitted and add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

Hi @v-cherch-msft ,
Not being able to publish a PBIT file creates a raft of serious issues:
Here are some of the problems:
Problem 1 - Long waiting time
I have to manually open the PBIT -->refesh all data (15-20 minutes) --> publish online manually
Problem 2 -Impossible to have a CI/CD
I cannot implement CI/CD solution. I have a PBIT file checked into GIT. I want my CI/CD (Azure Devops) to publish the PBIT to my DEV-Workspace and upon validation, I want my CI/CD to automatically publish to PROD-Workspace.
Problem 3- Solving CI/CD by checking in the PBIX into GIT
We could do convert the PBIT into PBIX (50 MB!) and then store this in GIT. But, this would mean storing customer sensitive data in GIT. We definitely do not want to do.
