Published Report/Dataset with No Data

Hello!  This is a first for me. I have published many reports with no issues previously.

I have a report built in desktop that is fully funtional. It is direct query of a SQL Database. The only thing different for this one vs the others I have done previously is that it is different source data (usually pull from GP, this is pulling from CRM). When I publish the report to Service, all of the visuals are visible but the values are blank. It is like the dataset has no data. I have tried every reboot and refresh imaginable.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

We found our problem. It had to do with the data source, CRM. Long story short, to view the data, the viewer had to be a user in the CRM system. I am a user which is why I could see the data in Desktop, but the Service pings as a separate user which was not setup as a user in CRM. Adding the Service user to CRM solved the issue as a band-aid. Will be looking at ways to improve how that data is queried so that is not a requirement.

HI there

Have you gone into the dataset settings and made sure that your dataset credentials have been set?

And also that it might possibly require a gateway with it being a different source?

Here is what it says under credentials and I am using a gateway. We have checked and double checked that I have access to the database on the server.

Are you using On-Prem CRM or Dynamics cloud?

Thanks for letting us know what solved the issue.

Hi,

What happens when you refresh the dataset from the service?  Are you getting errors?

No errors. Just no data is ever in the dataset.
