Published Embedded Report and Requesting Access

Hi all,

We have recently purchased PowerBI Embedded and are now looking to publish reports to internal users.

Our first attempt has been to publish a report on our local intranet. We are having mixed results with some able to see the report after they sign into PowerBI. However some users are being prompted with Request Access.

How do we allow ALL users within the organisation access to this report?

Thanks all

Thanks all

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi Lin,

Appreciate your post and have read through the technotes. In our case I suspect it was the dataset and specifically user permissions to it. The first technote refers to this as RLS or row level security.

To resolve the issue we created an App within the workspace, taking the option to install it automatically for the selected user groups. Once this was done the report appeared correctly within the iFrame.

Thanks,

Grant

hi  @granttweddle

Please refer to this document:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-share-dashboards

make sure that give the access to the reports for the users:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-request-access

hi @granttweddle

Yes, this means you don't give the access for these usrs, just share the report like created an App within the workspace, taking the option to install it automatically for the selected user groups, then they will have the aceess.

and since your issue is solved, please accept my reply as answer, that way, other community members would easily find the solution when they get same issues. 😁

Lin
