Problem to download Report in Power Point format

Hello There,

I have a serious problem with my Power BI Service.

When a user is logged into Power BI and requests the download in Power Point format, the download ignores the RLS filters and displays all company data.

Where do I set up for the Power BI Service to consider the RLS in the Power Point download?

Thanks

Sincerely,
Thales Ferraz

Hi @ThalesFerraz

Yes that is indeed the problem. Because you are the author who creates and upload the file, you will always see everything and no RLS will be applied.

But when you log in as a user who has got RLS applied they will only see their data and only be able to print or export to PowerPoint the same data that they see.

Hi @ThalesFerraz,

Based on my test, RLS will apply in the file when we export the report to PowerPoint.

In your scenario, make sure you have add that user as a member of role. Confirm with that user if he see the filtered data when he open the report in service before export. See: Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,

I made new tests today with 10 other users and the error is the same.

Note: I'm not logging in with the user / password of the users in question.
I'm going to "View as" and choose their email (login).

Is that the problem?

Sincerely,
Thales Ferraz

Hi there, just a quick question, when the user is viewing the reports does the RLS get applied correctly?

Only when they export to PowerPoint that it then does not honour the RLS?

Hello @GilbertQ,

Thanks for asking.

The user visializes the reports on the screen normally with the RLS,

but the file in PowerPoint comes with all data ignoring the RLS.

The same happens when trying to download in PDF or print.

Sincerely,
Thales Ferraz
