Pro to Premium with Education and Corporate users

Ello,

I seek your guidance.

We have a Domain which has Corporate and Education users in the same Domain. Education purchase the Faculty licences and the corporate side purchases their Corporate pro licences both coexisting inside the same Domain.  we are looking to move to premium for both can this be done in the same domain? I have heard a horror story that we would need to split them into separate domains as you cannot have 2 capacities in one domain.

Your help is gratefully received

Hi @jimmy7377 ,

Firstly, for users in the organization, there are three types of license: free, Pro, Premium Per User. For workspace, there are two capacities: shared capacity and Premium capacity, you can refer to the table below.

vkalyjmsft_0-1651203089773.png

For each user, they can have any kind of license, regardless of other users. There are two ways for users to get a license. Using self-service sign-up capabilities and their work or school account, users can get their own free, Pro, or Premium Per User license. Or, admins can get a Power BI license subscription and assign licenses to users.

For workspace, by default, workspaces are created in the shared capacity. When you have Premium capacities, both My Workspaces and workspaces can be assigned to Premium capacities, regardless of other users in the organization.
