We're running a P1 capacity just now and looking to utilise the PPU licences by moving reports and dashboards to app based with ppu
Is the ppu model a separate entity completely from the capacity we'ver got just now? Does the ppu require anything on top of the individual licences - ie if I've got 50 users and want 50 ppu licences, do I still need the p1 capacity server on top? It's a bit of a minefield trying to work out what's needed, especially when microsoft don't really explain the trial thing or premium per user - reserved capacity
Help would be most definitely appreciated!

@SSF_GB My understanding of P1 versus PPU is that yes, they are separate Premium capacities entirely. If you have a PPU workspace then everyone needs PPU license to access versus a P1 capacity, any Power BI license can access to view reports, Free, Pro or PPU. If all of your users have a PPU license then you wouldn't technically need to P1 instance in theory.
