Hello,
Per upcoming auditing, i wanted to know whether there are clear guidelines as to the Gateway log fie retenetion.
Looks like the Enterprise gateway service logs (under
C:\Users\PBIEgwService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\On-premises data gateway\<yyyyymmdd>.<Number>.log)
Is going back only 2 days?
Any clarification around log retention policies would be appreciated!
Thanks!
HI @Ronnie7,
Unfortunately, I haven't found any options to setting log retention on gateway side. Maybe you can consider to write a bat command to auto delete history logs.
BTW, you can also submit an idea for this requirement.

Would you know currently, under, C:\Users\PBIEgwService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\On-premises data gateway\<yyyyymmdd>.<Number>.log - how far back can i look at the logs?
in some servers, it looks like the earliest log file I could see was from 2 days ago. in anthoer server i can see log files from a week ago.
Thanks!
Hi @Ronnie7,
These logs will created when gateway working.
If gateway service has stop running or not setting to refresh data, there are no log files created.(if you haven't turned on options to 'auto clean up no use files', I think log files will stay there)
