Hi ,
I have found some other way for the Direct query (live connection) using ssas tabular model with help of azure.
On-premises Server-->(Bridge Connection)->Azure DatawareHouse -->PowerBI-->Azure PowerBI Embedded Service.
This helps to publish our report on the web with live data.But, I don't have any document how to achieve this.
If you folks find something related to this kindly share to me.
Thanks,
Praveenkumar.K
Hi @praveen571,
For the "Azure DatawareHouse -->PowerBI-->Azure PowerBI Embedded Service" part, you can refer to this article which describes how to get started with Microsoft Power BI Embedded step by step. Or you can try getting started with Power BI Embedded sample.

Hi v-ljerr-msft,
I have tried the sample and its working fine. But it's not allowing On-premises database direct query to pull live data, I have to use Azure as the source for PowerBi direct Query. Instead of that, I'm trying to connect my on-premises database to powerBI direct query through the Azure.
I have found a similar way in AZURE named as "Hybrid Connection".I'm not sure how it's useful to accomplish below scenario.
On-Premises SQL -->Azure SQL-->(Direct Query) PowerBI.
Help me out how to connect this hybrid connection.
Regards.

Yes, it is still a limitation that we cannot use DirectQuery with on-premises data sources for Power BI Embedded currently.
For the "On-Premises SQL -->Azure SQL-->(Direct Query) PowerBI" part, as I'm not familiar with "Hybrid Connection" and don't know how it works, I'm not sure if it could work for Power BI Embedded(Direct Query). Based on understanding, only if the "Hybrid Connection" do make the On-Premises SQL work as a Azure SQL, I don't think it could help much here.
