PowerBI Dataset update

Hi All,

A bit of a high level question - helping me orgnbaise my thoughts for when i meet with our development team.

We have a Power Automate pulling a a daily CSV from a email (From Moodle our LMS)

Im wondering if its possible for that csv to be used as a datset? And if that dataset can be refrshed?

Would the CSV file need to be overwritten? Or Updated? from OneDrive

Cheers,

Tevin

power bi doesn't retain history, it will either overwrite or insert, but i dont think it will update.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/incremental-refresh-overview

you can store snapshots of your key metrics

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/service-goals-introduction

but I think you will need a database  if you want to do updates.

i dont think it matters what source you are using for your dataset.  It can be refreshed as reguarly as your capacity allows.

If I took the time to answer your question and I came up with a solution, please mark my post as a solution and /or give kudos freely for the effort 🙂 Thank you!
