Power Bi Dataset visible in Desktop, but not online

I have a dataset another user created, and granted me full access to. I have a Pro license. I can view the data when connected to desktop and create visuals, but when I publish my report the data provides the following error in the visuals:

Couldn't load the data for this visual

If I connect a new report to my dataset that includes the previous dataset I get the following error as well:

I because in the local mode the access is fine, but when you go online version the gateways have more permisson, now you parner need to configurate the gateways from the data

All data is internal, and both the creator and I have access to the source data location. He is using the Personal Gateway for his local source data, and our report server for the other dataset. Are you thinking the setting change needs to be on the personal gateway side? If so what would you suggest?
