Power BI refresh slow /time out from this week end (14th Sep 2019)

Hi,

We have many Power BI datasets schduled to refresh data from D365 online over OData connection early morning. The below data set refreshed with in 50 minutes till Friday(13th September 2019 ) but not refreshing now(time out error). Every day early morning we have schedule to refresh this data set at 4.30 AM(IST) and it was successfully refreshed till Friday morning (Last 3 months refresh is succssful).
But from Saturday(14th september) Data refresh failed due to time out(Takes more than 2 hours to refresh but it was not the case before and no increase in volume of data). This is one example and the same issue for 50 % our data sets and all are completed before 2 hours with out issue till Friday but failed now.

Please suggest the reason for this issue from last weekend.

Note :- The Power Query reports also takes 10 times more to refersh (Previously it takes 5 minutes but now it take around 50 minutes).

Any one face this issue from Last week end (14th september)? Please give your feedback or any idea to reslove this issue.

Thanks and Regards,
Vijay

Hi @Vijayanand ,

It might be caused by too large dataset.  Consider reducing the size or complexity of your dataset, or consider breaking the dataset into smaller pieces. For more details, you can reference the document:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-troubleshooting-refresh-scenarios#scheduled-refres...

Hi,

Thanks for your support and feedback.

Still i have some un answered open points.

1) This issue started only from Last weekend(14th Sep) but before that all are refreshed with the time limit of 2 hours. Why this issue popuped up even with out any change in our side or increase in volume of data?

2) Not only for Power BI but same problem of slowness in Power Query refresh as well. We have 15 excel files using Power Query and all are refreshed with in 5 minutes till 13th Sep.

But from 14th September it takes more than 50 minutes for each refresh. Why power Query refresh also slowsdown 10 times(from 5 minutes to 50 minutes) only from Last weekend . Do you have any idea ?

Thanks and Regards,

Vijay

We're having basically the same issue here. All our dataset refreshes are failing with some variant of a timeout error. It started yesterday at about 6 PM. We don't use OData though, our failures are happening against SQL server queries. No new changes were published yesterday on our end so this must be a Microsoft data center issue of some sort.

Hi @KHorseman ,

Is any improvement in the refresh speed for you today ? For us still the same issue and takes more time than last week as reported by me.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Thanks and Regards,

Vijay
