Power BI online report (created in desktop ver) automatic refresh from non table Excel in One Drive

Hi Community

I am getting stuck on a final hurdle.

I created my report on the desktop version, as I enjoy the functionality.

I then pushed this to the cloud using the pro license.

The source file is a web link to an Excel (non tabular) located on my organisations One Drive.

When I am online, I can set a schedule refresh from the dataset, which works, but this only refreshes the dataset online and has no effect on the report I would think it is connected to.

Is there a way for me to let the report also automatically refresh based on the now updated dataset, or do I need to each time click refresh in the report online? Other way, which I also prefer to not use, is open the desktop version, clikc refresh and publish.

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Renier

Hi there

If I understand correctly, you want the details in the report to automatically refresh?

Currently you have to interact with the report to see the changes. Or you have to refresh the browser which will then reload all the data.

That is currently by design, as a report is designed to be used by people, whilst dashboard tiles are designed to be refreshed automatically.

Hi Gilbert Thank you very much for the answer, makes complete sense. I pined some of the items on that report to a dashboard, and it automatically refreshed with the scheduled refresh of the dataset. Thanks again. Regards

That is awesome, thanks for letting me know
