We use Power BI Premium for enterprise development (Rather than self service)
So we have devs on the data sources, creating sql databases. Devs looking after dataflows. Devs looking atfter the shared datasets and report devs creating the reports for users in seperate pbix files. And also App owners
So we have a fair number of people across the process.
So when say a source table changes (Lets say we are in dev), it will break the dev dataflow. then the data set and finally the report and the app unless everyone is aware and updates accordingly.
This can get abit chaotic. For example, the source devs dont know who is using the dataflows in this case. And people may forget they have updated a dataset and not told the report devs.
So my question is, is there, or will there be some kind of alerting for these kind of meta data changes in power BI Enterprise to help with this whole process?
Its causing us issues, so it must be something that is problematic to other users out there when you have a larger team and more developers across the areas of work?
I would love to find out if anything is being done about this?
Hey @DebbieE ,
This is something that we deal with all the time as well. I haven't heard anything about this but if you turn in an idea to have an alert for this sort of change please put the link here and I will be sure to vote for it.
