Power BI client data storage and EU regulation

Hi,

Following the annulment of the much talked about EU 'Safe Harbour' directive, how can I be sure that the data stored on Power BI servers is compliant with EU laws? In particular, is it possible to choose the location of the server upon which Power BI stores client data?

I see that the Power BI terms of conditions (ToCs) have not been updated since July 2015 and are still based on the premise of the defunct 'Safe Harbour' EU directive (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/terms-of-service/). My clients include large businesses with trans-atlantic operations and storing data on a EU server is not an option anymore.

Tableau for instance offers the choice of where client data is stored (http://www.pcworld.com/article/3021808/tableau-opens-the-doors-to-its-first-european-data-center.htm). l would like to see the same option available with Power BI.

Thanks for your help.

Marc
