Power BI access issue

We recently upgraded to Power BI Premium. BO workspace is now set up as premium capacity according to our admin.

It seems that only Pro users are able to access reports within the Service.

When users without a Pro license try to access the reports they are either asked to upgrade or use a free trial.

Hi @jingyizou,

as @vanessafvg mentioned, please have a look at the documentation, especially at the Licensing, workspaces, and capacity part.

For free users to be able to see reports/dashboard in a Premium capacity, you can do 2 things:

  • Publish an App from the workspace that contains the content to be shared with the end users. Enter the users in the permissions tab, ideally through an (AAD) security group
  • Give users the viewer role to the workspace

Hi @jingyizou .

Power BI Pro is required to publish reports, share dashboards, collaborate with colleagues in workspaces and engage in other related activities. But  in Premium capacity,if you only need to view the report,Pro license is not needed.

Here is the reference.

Best Regards,
