Power BI Usage Metrics Reports - Modern Usage Metrics Report

Hi

I have been working on creating separate usage reports for our workspaces and have noticed that there was a button for a new metrics report -

I looked this up on the microsoft -

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-modern-usage-metrics

So my question is this - I was wondering if anyone if has actually used the new report?  Does it impact anything when I switch on the use new report?

Just checking!

Thanks for any feedback

Karen

Hi @KarenL7 ,

The purpose of the button is to toggle between the new or old presentation of the usage report .

Legacy usage metrics and new usage metrics use different definitions and methods to track report usage. Another benefit of the new and improved usage metrics reports is better support for customizability.

Hi

Thanks for this, I had not seen this particular article previously, this is going to help as I have just set up lot of usage metrics reports using the original report.

"Note that this toggle is only available for usage metrics reports in modern workspaces. You only need to toggle this switch once because the setting applies to your user account across all your modern workspaces"

Will the old reports be upgraded then with the new report?  I presume that I have the new workspace

Thanks for your help.

Hi @KarenL7 ,

Through my tests, they will sync.
If you do not open this button in workspace 1, you view the old situation indicator report, and when you open the button in the new workspace to view the new situation indicator report, you return to the workspace 1 to view the situation indicator report again to display the new situation indicator report. If you save a copy of the new Condition Metrics report, it won't affect the copy even if you close the button.
