Power BI Sharing with SharePoint

Hi all,

Hi all,

I need some queries on Power BI license for following scenarios:

  1. A group of developers (e.g., 5 Super Users) build BI reports and dashboards.

  2. BI Reports and Dashboard should be shared with Management and Key Managers/Users (e.g., 40 Users)

  3. Client is exploring 2 methods
    1.  Share by Subscribe function in Power BI report as shown below

      SharePBI-1.jpg
    2. Share via Internal HTTP link function from SharePoint as shown below

      SharePBI-2.jpg
  4. In any cases, total Datasets will not go beyond 10 GB.

Please help to confirm with how Power BI  Pro licenses the clients need to purchase.

Thanks in advance,

2 ACCEPTED SOLUTIONS

Thanks a lot @Greg_Deckler ..

  1. So developers 5 Super Users +  Management and Key Managers/Users 40 users =
45 Power BI Pro client license ... is it correct

  2. If cleint want to only Management and Key Managers/Users (40 users) then Power BI Premium Per User would be (40 users * USD$ 20 user per month = USD$ 800 per user per month).
    right?

    Please advice

@aaroh_bits791 That looks correct to me but to clarify here are the options:

  • 40 Power BI Pro licenses (just management/key users) = $400/month
  • 45 Power BI Pro licenses (super users/management/key users) = $450/month
  • 40 Power BI Premium Per User licenses (just management/key users) = $800/month
  • 45 Power BI Premium Per User licenses (super users/management/key users) = $900/month
  • P1 Premium Instance + 5 Power BI Pro licenses (for super users/publishers) = $5,050/month

Those are all licensing options. If you do not need Premium features, then go with just straight Pro licenses. In short, Pro licensing is what adds the ability to share.

@aaroh_bits791 Everyone will need Power BI Pro or Power BI Premium Per User.

If you wanted, you could also do Power BI Premium and then Pro for the 5 users but that would be crazy expensive in comparison. Power BI Licensing in Pictures - Updated! - Microsoft Power BI Community
