Power BI Service integration with files on the computer

Ive been googling possible ways to set up my Power BI Service, but im still a bit lost on two things:

Scenario: I build a report on Power BI Desktop. The repport is based on data sources (xlsx, csv) that I saved to a OneDrive folder. I publish the report on Power BI Service.
Question: Can Power BI Service automatically refresh data from the OneDrive folder without setting up gateway?

In General, I understand that once i publish a report on Power BI Service (PBS), the model is uploaded to PBS and the underlying source data goes to datasets. However, is the original Power BI Desktop -file necessary after this? Where do i modify and update the report after publish? 

In other words: : If i delete the Power BI Desktop file, what happens to the report i published in Power BI Service?

@CarlsBerg999 No gateway required. If you delete the original PBIX nothing happens to the report published in the Service. You can always download the PBIX again from the Service. However, I recommend you store your PBIX files in a source control system like GitHub or even SharePoint library with version control turned on.
