Power BI Query String URL Filter - how to Highlight a visual not filter?

I have a report where I need to send 2 parameters. I am able to accomplish this with the ?filter=Table/Field URL Query String methodology.

But it's not quite providing the desired result.  I've been trying to read and understand HOW it is filtering and it seems like it is doing it at the data source level?  I don't really want to not have access to the rest of the data just because my report starts with these filters.

Anyway this is the functionality i want.

Param 1 = changes the slicer whidget to the param I send in the URL (I am able to achieve this)

Param 2 = highlights not filters my bar chart (in otherwords, right now it is only showing 1 bar in my chart the param I am sending.  There are other bars that would normally show up after, instead of filtering to 1 bar i want that 1 bar to be selected/highlighted with the others still in view in the faded color)

Can anyone think of a method i could apply that would allow this functionality?  Even if it is not anything close to what I am doing maybe its not through the query string at all....  basically i want to be able to dynamically determine how a whidget is sliced and how a bar graph is highlighted.

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Hi @TheSuxor,

I afraid this is a little difficult. Because the filter determines which values to show up explicitly. For instance, ?filter=Store/Territory eq 'NC'. This shows clearly only Territory NC. You still can vote on an idea or create a new one here: https://ideas.powerbi.com. Maybe we can get it in the future.
