Power BI Pro for non-Office 365 Users

I tried walking through purchasing Power BI Pro for a client this morning. It was my first time doing this for someone without an O365 subscription. It forced us into a chat where we were told "We are still working out how to sell it to non O365 users. In the meantime, we can offer a free trial of Pro, while we work everything out."

1) For the sake of PR, please avoid phrasing like "we are still working out how to sell it", and please figure out how to sell it ASAP.

2) What's the timeline for a better non-O365 purchase experience?

3) Love the Pro trial. What happens at the end of 60 days if the client is still not able to purchase Pro? Will their trial be extended indefinitely?

Here's a recap of the process from the perspective of a non-O365 subscriber trying to get Power BI Pro. For team/organization, you are forced into Free + Pro Trial without the ability to purchase Pro. Adam clarified that an extension of the Pro trial will be offered until a purchase option is in place. For the myself option, a purchase is still possible.

Here's the current user experience for someone who wants to purchase Pro directly for a team:

1) Go to https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing and click on Purchase.

2) Click "No or unsure" in response to "Does your organization use Office 365?"

3) Click "Team or organization" in response to "Do you want to purchase Power BI for just yourself or for your team?"

4) At that point, you get directed into Chat, and the sales/support rep directs you to the Free + Pro Trial option.

Why direct users to the chat option instead of just stating this option directly? The process lacks clarity, and having to extend on a per-user basis is not the best option for organizations looking to adopt PBI without O365.

Why is this marked as the solution? This is not a solution. It is an explanation of the problem.  Is it still next to impossible to purchase Pro subscriptions for non-O365 companies?

Hi @Anonymous

Here is the link to purchase the license.

@deldersveld

On the pricing page the only option mentioned is Try Free. There is no option to purchase the license.

The OP was written almost two years ago. A lot has changed since then.

@deldersveld

Any idea on how to go about it now?
