Hello,
I´m new to PowerBI and have problems with the relation button.
Both other buttons (Reports and Data) work properly. When clicking on the relationship button, PowerBI crahses without any warning/infomation/reason etc.
Any ideas what the problem can be?
Best and thanks
Marina
Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
I use the latest version after March Update, this didn´t fix the problem.
Also, my problem persists indepent of the used pbix file even when theres no pbix file loaded.
Any other idea?
Thanks and best,
Marina
Hi @MarinaA,
Were there any error messages?
Please enable the trace and send me the logs through PM if you can. I will try.
Maybe you can file a support ticket here.
Best Regards,
Dale
Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
no, unfortunately there is nothing. It just crashes without any message, window, log etc.
It works at my collegues PC having the same version of Power BI installed.
Maybe driver issues!?
I don´t know where to look at anymore.
Thanks and best
Marina
Hi Marina,
Can you still open the Desktop? Or crash when you open it?
How about opening it from the shortcut?
What't your configuration of the hardware and software?
Best Regards,
Dale
Hi Dale,
PowerBI Desktop works find except the relation button.
What do you meen by "opening it from the shortcut"?
my Hardware:
my Software: Version 2.56.5023.861 64-bit (März 2018)
Thanks
Marina
Hi Marina,
1. "opening it from the shortcut" means opening Power BI from the shortcut in the desktop of Windows.
2. If you have a Pro account, I would suggest you file support ticket as I suggested before.
3. Maybe you can try these step to find out the logs.
3.1 Open Desktop;
3.2 Enable trace as I posted before;
3.3 Click the relationship pane and the Desktop will crash.
3.4 Open the Desktop again;
3.5 Open the logs path through the options of PBI Desktop. You will find the logs there.
You'd better delete the snapshot you posted or mask the IDs.
Best Regards,
Dale
Hi Dale,
all logs are empty.
I maybe wait for the next update and look if the mistake is still present.
Thanks for all your help!
Best,
Marina
