Power BI Dashboard - cosmos DB source - refresh under import mode

If I have a report designed with multiple visuals, we cannot pin to a dashboard like as a usual practice with our current design.

(i.e) one card visual on top of that we need to place other card visuals to display some icons.

So, if we pin individual cards to a dashboard the design is not like what we have expected, it will place it as multiple tiles. For this we have to pin the entire report page to the dashboard.

If our source Cosmos DB (import mode only) and configured with scheduled refresh though our dataset is refreshed on specified intervals but the dashboard tiles/report pages(report live page) are not refreshing, We are doing it manually.

Will there be any way to do auto refresh tiles/report page under the dashboard? Any workaround instead browser extensions/add-on’s to fix this?

Hi @Anonymous ,

The tiles will be placed automatically after pinning. For now, we could drag them to re-order in dashboard or pin the entire page as you tried.  It is by design. There is not a good workaround to solve it.

Tile refresh  happens automatically following a data refresh.  This is true for both, scheduled and on-demand refresh operations. Because it happens automatically, you can consider tile refresh an intrinsic part of data refresh. Among other things, you might notice that the refresh duration increases with the number of tiles. The tile refresh overhead can be significant. If you want to refresh in real time, for now, we only can do it munally while using import mode.
