Postgresql gateway failure on website

Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to . Details: "We could not register this data source for any gateway instances within this cluster. Please find more details below about specific errors for each gateway instance."

The installed database provider 'Npgsql' targets an incompatible .NET Framework. Please install Npgsql version 4.0.10.0 or earlier.

 

I can conect PostgreSQL on PowerBI Desktop with direct query but when i publish dashboard to website,I found error that i shown above. how to fix it?.

 

For your information : 

I install Npgsql-4.1.3 , .Net Framework and config On-premises data gateway (standard mode) already. And  My database have to connect VPN

Hi. Have you configure the data source in the Power Bi Service under Manage Gateway? It looks like the connection between them isn't ok. Check manage gateway and look at the source to check if it was a green check.

I get the same error message for SQL Server. Same problem. I can update via the desktop but once publishing the web service, it fails. The Gateway I use to update the data, says "Online: You are good to go", yet I cannot refresh the data through the Web Service.

Hi @PPPPP ,

 

You may follow the steps below:

 

1.Ctrl + Alt + Del to open the Task Manager

2.Click the "Services" tab

3.Find "On-premise data gateway service" in the list

4.Right click and click "Start"

start gateway.png

Or you may upgrade the gateway to latest version, ad try it again.
