Personal PowerBI Gateway Offline

We have PowerBI gateway set up on machine and several reports run daily.

However on and off the report refresh fail as PowerBI gateway goes offline.

I tried to check event viewer and windows log but couldn't find any reason of this issue occurance.

I check updates it shows one Microsoft endpoint protection which pops up every other day and I ran that they manually lauch the gateway and it works fine.

Can someone please advise if there is any setting that we can do by which Gateway stays up always and has no effect of updates or any other process.

Hi @Laxmi,

So you are using personal gateway within your organization? Would it be available to switch to On-premises data gateway?

In addition, please also check the following parts regarding personal gateway troubleshooting:

1. Go to your Temp folder (%temp%) and look for files that start with Power_BI_;
2. Using Fiddler to take an HTTP trace.
3. Check the Microsoft Endpoint Protection related logs or configuration, to allow the gateway service;

Further, under which account the personal-gateway has been installed? If possible, download the install package and then run it under the Administrator account, see if this would fix the issue.

We have the same problem. We have multiple data sources. The on-premises data gateway does not support Salesforce. So we have to use personal gateway across our organization.

The error log shows:

Error from PersonalGatewayConfigurator, exception: Microsoft.DataTransfer.DIAgentClient.HostServiceException: The operation has timed out.
