I'm embedding a report in a web app. The same report is loading fast in the Power BI service. It loads reasonably fast in the web app the first time.
But If i refresh it, it leads to a timeout and a browser popup, But I am not facing any issues in the Service.
The problem occurs only for this particular Report. All the other reports are loading in the web app without any problem.
Hi @Anonymous ,
There are several points you can considerate:
1.You can refer to the link to improve the performance :Power BI Embedded performance .
2.Make sure the embed token did not expire. Make sure you're checking the embed token expiration and refreshing it. For more information, see Refresh token using JavaScript SDK.
3.Open the file from Power BI Desktop, or within powerbi.com, and verify that performance is acceptable to rule out issues with your application or the embedding APIs.
4.You can go through the Embedding setup tool to quickly download a sample application. Then you can compare your application to the sample.
5.Verify that you have all the proper prerequisites before using the Embedding setup tool. You need a Power BI Pro account and a Microsoft Azure subscription.
You may resolve the issue via the troubleshooting link :https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/embedded-troubleshoot.
Best Regards,
Amy

Hi @v-xicai , Thanks for your detailed response. We did a little bit of analysis and singled down the problem to the Power KPI custom visual being used in the dashboard.
The dashboard was working fine in the web app till 3 weeks ago.
The visual seems to be owned by microsoft. Is there a chance that an update to the visual could have caused this performance issue while embedding it.
