Partial Connections to Gateway

Hi,

Is it possible to partially connect the gateway sources?

(Or a way to exclude connections?)

I have two sources/connections in my dataset:

  • Direct Query to SQL Server (I want this connection and it works)
  • Import to local Excel file (I do not want to use this connection in my gateway)

The local Excel holds only slowly changing data, which needs to be updated every few month, by Power BI Desktop uploads.

That is not possible.

But if your data is slow changing then either put that excel file onto a sharepoint, or copy/paste the data directly into Power Query and get rid of the Excel file.
