Paginated Report and Deployment Pipeline dataset source change

Hi All

With April release, Paginated report is also part of deployment pipeline and can migrate from dev to test and prod seamlessly.  I am using PBIX dataset as source for Paginated report. Using deployment pipeline, it doesn't reconnect to dataset in respective Test and Production workspace.

Is there any work around or setting to make data source in paginated report dynamic and pass as parameter?

I think, it's better to fix link mapping within deployment pipeline as best solution.

Thanks for any suggestions!

@abpgupta,

We are working on the solution as you described- making the connection between datasets and paginated reports works the same inside a pipeline, so the rebinding will be automatic across stages.

It shoould be available within few weeks.

In the mean time, you can set rules for the data source connections to get the same result.

Was a solution for this available?

Hi @George_Feasible,
Yes it is available 🙂
Also, is indicated here: Microsoft documentation | Deployment pipelines | Auto-binding

@Nimrod_Shalit,

Could you give example of setting rules for data source connection for Paginated report?

Thanks!

Hi @abpgupta ,

Check the link provided in the following blog to provide some restrictions on the data source of Paginated report.
