MS Support helped me and my problem is solved ! 😀

We did the following steps

- add DisableCertificateRevocationCheck = 1 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Power BI Desktop

- in IE / Options / Security / Local Intranet / Sites / Advanced : add https://office365.mycompagny.com

- in IE / Options / Advanced : disable "Enable Integrated Windows Authentification"

The problem is with the login screen with Microsoft Account option. The screen supposed to take inputs user and password. But it is just freezing and I am not able to enter user/password. The screen is just frozen and stuck. I need to go to task manager and kill powerbi desktop app.

Hi @kikolli ,

How about restarting desktop and clearing all the caches in desktop? It's really weird enough,if the issue still cant be solved, pls create a support ticket via below link:

I currently have a ticket in for this exact same issue.  No word yet from MS.

We've got the newest version, cleared cache, etc... and it just hangs on the sts.orgname.com windows security window.  We have verified this is not blocked by local firewall or our Palo Alto.  From the same server we can sign-in to all other Office products, which go to the same sts.orgname.com endpoint.  And we can sign-in to PowerBI via Power BI Report Builder on this server.  It's strictly PowerBI Desktop that this affects.

Okay, looks like there is a solution. Try to install the August version from here

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update-archive#august-2020-upd...

This behavior can be related to a switch that has been done in the authentication process starting with the September release.

Following this helped me to resolve the issue:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-troubleshooting-sign-in#using-default...

It is not working for me. I am going create a support ticket. Thanks.

Hello Kikolli,

Do you have any update on this issue. We are having the same issue that you described.

Hi, we are having this exact same issue.  Can you let me know the outcome of your support ticket?

I am not able to create service ticket as I am not the admin on Power BI and the issue is not resolved yet. Please let me know if you can make progress in coming days.

I am the Global Admin for our Org and have a ticket in for this.  I'll keep you posted.
