PBI report data source error using On-premises data gateway

Hello Community

 

Need some help.

I recently have had issues with my PBI Reports that use a data source connected to On-Premises data gateway.

It started today and happened once previously. Receive this error below.

 

"There was a data source access error. Please contact the gateway administrator"

 

Error on Data Source in PBI service:

Unable to connect: This data source cannot connect to any gateway instances of the cluster. Please find more details below about specific errors for each gateway instance.Hide details

Gateway version = 3000.31.3 - Status is Ready ( I know this is March, i did try the latest and it did not work either) I reinstalled March about 2 weeks ago and it fixed it. but now i'm getting same issues.

Not sure where the disconnect is. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is not the problem even though it reports a memory problem.  The Server has 128GB of memory.

I finally was able to trace the issue to a DNS resolution problem from the Gateway connection on PBI service to the on-premises gateway. I had to use the FQDN for Server in the gateway data source setup.

Hi there

It appears that your Gateway server does not have enough memory to process the data when it is getting refreshed.

Can you ensure that you have enough RAM at least 8GB or more on the gateway server?
