PBI Service stopped Syncing - Says file cannot be located that is there

Hi PBI Community,

I have a workflow that creates a CSV on a user's desktop which is sync'ed via OneDrive to a SharePoint documents folder. The PBI service then uses this CSV as a dataset to populate a report. However, I ran into a sync error with OneDrive which required the deletion of the file. I guess the PBI service went to refresh when the file wasn't present and is now stuck on a OneDrive for Business sync error. The file is now present and has been for several weeks, but PBI Service will no longer refresh the file when clicking refresh. I teied deleting the dataset in PBI (which requried deletion of the report) and recreated the dataset and report in the PBI service, however it's still not refreshing. Below is the error code. Any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there

I think this is because when using OneDrive it actually uses a unique ID. If something gets moved or deleted you loose that Unique ID for ever.

The quickest way to get this working would be to re-create it all and upload it into the App Workspace.

Thanks for the reply; that explains it pretty well.

I wish it was a bit more intuitive (or troubleshootable) from the Refresh tab. It implies it's looking for a filename, not an identifier, and offers little in the way of solving errors.

I guess I am confused on the definition of the App Workspace. The dataset and report are contained in the Workspace for the SharePoint team that hosts the .csv file.. is that not in the Workspace?

No that is not within the Workspace but stored where ever the CSV lives.
