Friday afternoon European time, and intermittently today, PBI Service has been slow. I assume it is PBI Service because the data from our local and remote gateways are both slow during these lag spikes. We are live connecting to a SSAS through the gateway.
The queries don't timeout, they are just slow, sometimes 30 seconds for a slice. And then 2 minutes later everything happens instantly and there is no lag. Last Thursday and Friday morning there weren't any of these issues.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Hi @tannera,
Please check your gateway logs, and see if there is any error message. On-premises data gateway service logs locates in C:\Users\PBIEgwService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\on-premises data gateway\Gateway*.log. The On-premises data gateway service event logs are present under Application and Services Logs. More details, please see the "Collecting logs from the gateway configurator" part of this article.
Both the local and remote data are slow. It maybe caused by SSAS itself. When the data update, to get the query execution time, you can just query DMV like:
select * from $system.discover_commands
Or using SQL Profiler to get the query execution start_time and end_time. If the query execution time is long, please restart and trouble shooting your SSAS.
In addition, it SSAS works smoothly, it may be caused by Power Bi service, you create a Power BI support ticket by click the Create support ticket button at the end of this site to get dedicated support.
Best Regards,
Angelia
