On premises data gateway (not personal mode)

Hi friend, 

After installing the On premises data gateway (version 14.16.6584.1) on the server and defined everything that was needed for example : 

• Server Name
• Database Name
• User Name (sql server authntication)
• Password

And after I have performed a successful connection test.

Please note that the sql server is local on the server that On premises data gateway installed.

I manage to surf the Internet from this server.

I get the following error message:

"You don't have any gateway installed or configured for the data sources in this dataset. Please install a new data gateway, or configure the data source for an existing data gateway."

can you help me with this issue ?

HI @alonb,

According to your error message, it seems like power bi can't recognize your datasource who configured in on- premise data gateway.

Please confirm it has setting to same datasource, connection and authentication mode as you configured in power bi report file, otherwise power bi wont recognize your datasource.

If above not help, please share more detail information to help us clarify your scenario.

BTW, if you install personal gateway and try again, does this works?

Thank you for your help.
Apparently that was my problem.

I changed the data source from power bi desktop Just as defined in a powerbi.com and that solved the problem.
