Hello,
Till now I used to setup an On-Premise Data Gateway on the MySQL server which was used as a data source for published reports on PowerBIservice.
Now, we have MySQL database on the Azure Database for MySQL server which is being used a data source.
I wished to know how and where should we setup the On-Premise Data Gateway for our published reports which have data source as Azure Database for MySQL server?

Hi. It's not mandatory to install the gateway in the same exact vm where the data is hosted. You can install the gateway in any vm with internet access that has lan connectivity against the data. After saying this I would suggest you create an Azure VM to install a gateway there. You must turn on the azure visibility on the DB firewall and install the mysql drive (restart after that installation).
Sadly MySQL on azure is one of the databases that can't hadle a native conection in Power Bi like SQL Server or Postgres.
I hope that helps,
