On-Premise (Personal) Gateways (And Admin)

My Personal on-premise gateway works perfect:  It comes up with green OK checkmarks and seems to be in good shape.
There is no easy way to chnage it to Admin, as that apparently is needed to fix this problem:
From PBI Service I try to add a Dataflow.  The only option given is to use what they call [on-premise][Admin]ON-premises _Gateway, see image below. 

While the functioning Gatway I have says:  On-Premise data gateway (personal mode).
And of course, there is an error:

"The on-premises data gateway "[On-premises][Admin] ON-Premises_Gateway" could not be reached and may be offline. (Session ID: ...."
 This has been going on for a while now.  What is the problem???????

I wrote a long reply, but the page ate it.  
Bottom line, although I had elaborated on it:   My short version:  A year ago I created a Dataflow, in PBI Service - of course now that I try to edit that same Dataflow it gives me the same message:  "Gateway cannot be reached or is offline"  - The Microsoft message system sucks,   My "functioning" On-premise gateway (Personal Mode) is telling me that it is ONLINE and READY to go.  Yeah, right?  For what?  

My beef is with the crappy "message system" - or lack thereof.     Why is it saying "ready to go"  if it isn't???

Also, I will check out the External tools you suggest.  Again, thanks for your help.

@SamSpadler Your Personal Gateway is installed and ready to go. However, you cannot use a Personal mode gateway for dataflows. You have to have a data gateway installed in "Enterprise" or "Standard" mode as it is called now. When you download the gateway you are given the option of installing either Standard or Personal. You can actually install both on the same machine technically.

@SamSpadler Dataflows are only supported using enterprise gateways. Personal gateways won't be available for selection in the drop-down lists and settings screens.
